About this Boomer

Hi, My name is David Goldman and this blog is not about the World Wide Web. Oh yeah, it will talk about that for sure, but the main point is how today's technology has changed the way we go about our everyday lives.

Currently, I am a technical writer. What does that mean? It means that I write the documentation that explains how to use some software applications. Not that that makes me an expert on any of the subjects I want to talk about in this blog, only that this is the most recent stop on my life's journey where I have learned a lot that I want to share with you.

In the past I have worked with children in informal educational activities. I moved on to working with special needs children and adults. This work included working with learning disabled children as well as physically and mentally challenged children and adults. I taught myself computer skills and even created an adaptive computer lab for physically challenged students to allow them to use computers with inputs other than a keyboard, for example using buttons that can be activated using a head or knee.

Recently, I started looking to change directions again and discovered that what once passed for a great resume (CV) was only half a resume today. Technology dictates that you use other means to find a job. Technology, especially the World Wide Web, has changed the way we live our everyday lives. And that is what I want to talk about in this blog. New technology does not mean that Baby Boomers need to take a back seat to the younger generations. A little knowledge will empower everyone to compete or just enjoy life a little.

I hope to have fun with everyone writing this blog and talk about a lot of things that I hope you find interesting. I also invite you to let me know what you want to hear. Just click on the Contact button in the menu at the top of the page and send me a note with your suggestions. And if you like what you see, then subscribe to get notified each time I make a new post.
